For those of you with darker eyebrow, it will help deep the color and will help fill your eyebrows in. It is super easy to do yourself and you will get amazing results without spending a ton of money and time. Click here to for my full tutorial on how I wax my own eyebrows. The other day one of my friends saw the picture on my driver’s license. Keep in mind that picture that around 5 years old and I have obviously changed so much. But the next thing she said is that the biggest difference in the picture was that I had no eyebrows!

Go through the henna-based tinting process one time for a subtle tint, then repeat for more intensely pigmented brows that will last up to a week. On the other hand, if you have a naturally light eyebrow color, then choosing a lighter option would be better, which would also decrease the henna tint removal time. The exact time would, however, depend upon what exactly you are aiming to achieve with your eyebrows. But usually, eyebrow henna tinting process can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes. Eyebrow tinting is the process of temporarily enhancing, shaping, and defining the brows with semi-permanent dyes.
Step 5:
With a powder and a conditioning developer, this kit is ideal for anyone new to the brow tinting game. There are four colors to choose from, and you can customize the intensity depending on how much product you put in the pan and how long you let it sit. The kit comes with a spoolie for application—which is A-ok to use—but you may want to consider an angled eyebrow brush to get an even application.

For those of you that have really light-colored eyebrows like me, this will work wonders for you, and you will see a drastic difference. Meaning, the longer you leave it on, the darker it will get. Dying Eyebrows with Hair Dye Safety
Eyebrow tinting uses semi-permanent dye to temporarily enhance, shape, and define brows. The best part, at least for those who want to attempt it themselves, is that it's pretty straightforward. "Tinting your brows at home is surprisingly easy," says celebrity makeup artist and brow expert Ramy Gafni.

Put the product over your entire brow, not just sparse sections, for the most even looking application. Use petroleum jelly around your brows to prevent staining the skin around your brows. If you are covering gray hair, the dye needs to sit the full 35 minutes to deposit the color. If you are only lightening, though, two minutes to lift is sufficient.
Uh oh, I've dyed them too dark. What now?
"The key is to select the correct color and formula." Mix your dye according to the package instructions. Package instructions might vary depending on the brand and type of dye, but typically, you mix color and developer cream in a tray. Don't mix the whole package—you'll only need a small amount to dye your eyebrows (start with a pea-sized amount of color and developer).

It boasts a non-toxic formula, free of hydrogen peroxide and synthetic dyes. It's perfect for the brow-obsessed who have sensitive skin. Available in four natural shades, it will tint your brows for up to four to six weeks. To prep for your tinting, all you need is clean, moisturized skin.
Remove as much as possible, then remove any remaining dye with a damp cloth, paper towel or cotton pad. Dip a cotton swab in petroleum jelly and rub around your eyebrows to prevent staining the skin. After learning how to dye my eyebrows at home, my eyebrows reached medium brown without the use of any makeup. I’m not spending a bunch of money getting them dying professionally, saving time and my eyebrows are visible and thriving.

They can cause significant damage to your eyes and delicate eye area if you accidentally get some in there. As explained above, if your brows come out too light, go ahead and do the process over—just make sure your eyebrows are completely dry before you try again. Give it another scrub with cleanser and follow up with toner. Most claim to last up to six weeks, but I find myself ready for a refresh by week three or four.
If you do dye them too dark, though, there are some effective to-do's to salvage those brows (more later!). Use a mascara wand or a spoolie brush to prevent clumps and uneven application. Use an old T-shirt and keep paper towels handy to clean the mess. Aloe vera gel provides a healthy boost to the skin underneath the brows as well by soothing the skin and helping eliminate any potential, or existing, irritation. If you prefer to let your brows alone at this point you absolutely can!

Plus, each easy-to-follow kit contains 20 applications, making it shockingly affordable for almost a year's worth of dye. But with COVID-19 still making in-salon visits a distant memory, I started to miss Scott and our tinting sessions. So I gave them a call to see if it was possible to do the procedure at home.
Here, we’re sharing our favorite at-home brow tints along with expert-approved tips for getting a natural-looking, albeit slightly enhanced, finish. Part of the appeal of brow tinting is that those wispy, vellus hairs that were once invisible finally get their chance to shine through. You don't want to accidentally dye your forehead, here. "Think of it like you're filling in your brows," Healy explains. If your brows are looking a little worse for wear, you can try out DIY eyebrow tinting at home!
